Thatcher was born on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  He began piano studies as a child but switched to upright and electric bass in middle school, quickly developing proficiency on the instruments.  He earned his bachelor’s degree at the Berklee College of Music, studying bass performance and songwriting.  Thatcher currently resides and works in Nashville, TN, where music is always playing and it never gets too cold.

“Thatcher is an exceptional musician and collaborator with a kind heart and the desire to help those around him.  An unbelievably trustworthy and reliable person with an incredibly high level of musicianship, Thatcher is my go-to for all things bass (and music in general). He can do it all!”

“If there’s anyone more prepared and on top of it than Thatcher, I’ve yet to meet them.  Thatcher and I worked on his first album together and he made it one of the easiest and most fun experiences I’ve had!  I’ve also gigged with Thatcher for many years now and he always keep the mood light while bringing his absolute best to every performance.”

“It’s a pleasure to share my experience working with Thatcher. His contribution to many shows at the Cotuit Center For the Arts has been invaluable. In addition to exemplary reading skills and musicality, he brings a great attitude and social awareness. In short, he’s a pleasure to be around while he does the job.”
